VIRTUAL TRAUMA & PTSD THERAPY IN COLORADO
When the past keeps showing up in the present
You may understand that an experience is over while still feeling on guard, disconnected, or caught in reactions you can’t quite explain. Or you may wonder whether what happened was serious enough to deserve support.
At Balancing Anxiety, we offer virtual trauma therapy with space to understand what you’ve lived through and how it affects you today. We’ll work together toward feeling more grounded, connected, and able to engage with your life.
PTSD can feel like…
✖ The experience is over, but your mind and body still react as though danger is close.
✖ Memories, nightmares, or sudden reminders pull you back into what happened.
✖ You avoid places, conversations, or situations because of what they bring up.
✖ You feel disconnected from people you love or struggle to feel present in your life.
✖ You carry guilt or shame, replaying what happened and wondering what you could have done differently.
Treatment can help you…
✔ Feel more grounded in the present when memories or reminders become overwhelming.
✔ Process painful experiences so they interfere less with your everyday life.
✔ Explore self-blame and develop a more compassionate understanding of what happened.
✔ Reconnect with relationships and activities you’ve been pulling away from.
✔ Build ways to support your sleep, manage distress, and recognize when you need extra care.
Our Trauma & PTSD Support Includes:
-
An accident, assault, medical emergency, or other frightening experience may continue affecting you long after the immediate situation has ended.
-
Experiences involving abuse, violence, or ongoing fear can shape how you relate to yourself and others. Therapy offers space to understand those effects without rushing your story.
-
A difficult birth, pregnancy experience, or medical event may leave you feeling frightened, powerless, or disconnected. We make room for those feelings alongside everything else that experience may mean to you.
-
You may find yourself minimizing what happened or comparing it with someone else’s story. We can begin with its impact on you and explore what support fits, whether or not you have a PTSD diagnosis.
Thoughtful care, at a pace we decide together
We begin by getting to know you, discussing what you want from therapy, and helping you build ways to manage difficult emotions before deciding how to approach deeper work.
Our clinicians may use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, or other approaches suited to your needs and their training.
Together, we can work on processing distressing memories and exploring beliefs you may have developed about yourself afterward. We’ll explain what to expect, welcome your questions, and check in regularly about how the work feels.
You can begin with how it’s affecting you today
You don’t need to decide whether your experience “counts” as trauma before asking for support. You may be noticing anxiety, sleep difficulties, low mood, or challenges in your relationships, without knowing how they connect.
Whether something happened recently or years ago, we’ll take time to listen. Get to know our therapists, or reach out to begin a conversation about your care.
